You’re stuck in a rut and you don’t know how to get out of it .
I’ve had 10 sessions with lifeline counselling to deal with the effects of UC.

People suffer more when they have no family to turn to. I’m lucky to have my sons, they are always there for me. When you have no one it can make you fall more into depression.

Universal Credit is having negative consequences on people’s mental health. In this project, people spoke about how existing mental health problems were worsened because of the benefit, while others explained that they had experienced new problems (anxiety, depression, even feeling suicidal) since going onto Universal Credit.

If it’s all getting too much and you need to speak to someone, our Universal Credit Guide features contact details for people who are there for you . Everyone needs help at some time.
